- PETRENKAVALI VRCHAT MODEL README FILE -

FOR USE WITH v1.1.2

(when referring to the model, you can also refer to it as the Petvali for short :3)

Hello! Stormi here! Welcome to the Petvali Pack!

Inside you'll find an easy to set up Minecraft-themed Avali model for VRChat,
the Petrenkavali!

The Petrenkavali was named after Petrenko, the original creator of the Petrenko fork
(an edit of Cynadyde's CustomPlayerModels Avali model) who I worked closely with to edit and port to vrchat!

(Both Cynadyde and Petrenko are amazing artists, give em both some love).

- BASIC SETUP -

To get started, you'll need a few things:

1. Some version of the Poiyomi shaders imported (toon or Pro)
2. GogoLoco (not currently included)
3. Avatars 3.0 Emulator (recommended, not required)
4. Aseprite (reccomended, makes adding your own textures to the skin easier!)
5. The Petvali pack (of course!)
6. A custom Petrenko Fork skin from the Minecraft Mod (recommended)

Now assuming you have the above, open a new scene and drag and drop the Petrenkavali v1.1.2 prefab from this pack's
"Prefabs" folder into your Hierarchy to add a new birb to the scene!

Now you have a petvali! He comes automatically set up with GogoLoco if you have it in your unity project,
so you can fly in vrchat worlds, sit anywhere, and more! Your petvali also comes pre-set up with physbones on the ears,
tail, and wings, for smooth physics-based interactions! The ears and tail can be grabbed by yourself and your friends!
(and posed if you toggle them on in unity)

Quick tip, make sure before you make any edits you right click your petvali's name in the hierarchy and select "unpack prefab completely"
so you can make your own avali without messing up the template prefab!

From here, you can begin customizing to your hearts content! Add animations, customize facial expressions, whatever you want!
Make sure to make duplicates of layers, menus, and animations if you make changes so the template ones stay the same for your next birb! :D

- ADDING YOUR OWN TEXTURES -

The basic textures included are of me, Stormi, and you can feel free to experiment with them as you please.
If you have your own CustomPlayerModel Avali texture from Minecraft already using the Petrenko fork, we can use that as well with
just a few extra steps!

1. Open Aseprite, then open the Aseprite file found in this pack's "Materials" folder (named "Petvaliprojx4")
2. Open your Petrenko fork texture in a new tab.
3. The Petvaliprojx4 project is, as you probably guessed, 400% the scale of the original minecraft texture. This makes the minecraft texture look sharper in vrchat. You can either edit the included texture, or scale up your own to fit! :D
4. Once your skin is scaled up by 4x, hit ctrl+A to select your whole skin, then hit ctrl+c to copy, then return to the petvali texture.
5. Paste your own skin into a new layer, line it up, then turn the old layer off below!
6. Now export your new texture into the unity project!
7. Now in the materials folder, select the body and feathers materials and click ctrl+d to duplicate them. Rename them however you want.
8. Next, find your new texture and place in the texture slot for both materials to replace the old texture with your custom one!
9. Now select the "torso" on your petvali, find the correct material slot, and replace the default with your own to make your own custom Petvali!

Note - for performance reasons the "armor" and "outfit" blocks from the Petrenko fork have been removed, so just the base textures will carry over. :3
